We visit Poland next month and are wandering about a visit to Ukraine or Belarus with children of 13 and 16. Has anyone visited either destination and how easy is it to arrange rail travel from Warsaw/Krakow?
Re Lviv - we are looking at tours with Chortycia - has anyone used this Polish travel agency?
Re Belarus - how long do visas take? We are looking at either Brest or Hrodna - what do people think?
thanks

Well, it is pretty easy to get there by train - I mean from Warsaw. And if you want to add an educative touch to the trip I believe you should make it to Brest (pretty dafe with Fortress, museums, churches).

thanks - which hotel is best in Brest?

Try %26quot;5 kolets%26quot;(translated as %26quot;five rings%26quot;, these are no 5 stars, don%26#39;t get confused, rather comfortable, i would say reasonable money for reasonable number of stars:)))
One more decent is %26quot;Vesta%26quot; - *** but worthy of maximum ** and expensive.
Other hotels are mmmmm... not even B%26amp;B level)))
And be prepared to the %26quot;house full%26quot; situation.
They say there is a supadupacool hotel in Belavezhskaya Pushtcha(that%26#39;s a name for a forest national park, tourist attraction near Brest). You may also try it.

That cool hotel or hotel complex you are talking about is probably Kameniuki Complex - 3 cottages with a number of suites in each of them.
In town there is also Brest Intourist Hotel.
