found so many people interested in hiring a car here in Belarus
so i decided to share some links of car renting companies in Minsk
no English version though, but there are phone numbers and e-mails
http://157.by/prokat.htm
there are special conditions
1)you must leave 200$ for the company as security(100% money back if you return the car, of course)
2)you mustn%26#39;t drive more than 250km per day
if you do, you%26#39;ll pay extra 0,15$ for a km(well, extra 15-20$ a day... maybe that%26#39;s not too much)
http://www.rentcars.by/ru/rent.html
3.1 dollars for an hour
so it makes 75$ a day
200km per day limit
200$ as security
full tank of petrol free of charge(!!!) - 50 litres, in Belarus 1 litre of petrol is 0.95$

Thanks about the information about car hire in Belarus.
We are currently wanting to visit Stolin to see a child we hosted for a month. At the moment we are considering going via Poland as the flights are very cheap, and then maybe a train the rest of the way.
I%26#39;m not sure if you would know how easy this would be or if there is any helpful information you could give us about doing this without it being excessively expensive! . It seems a difficult task to us at the moment but we would very much like to visit the family in Stolin and see the country in which they live.
Thankyou!

if you get to Brest, the rest of the way will not be very expensive, train tickets are cheap in Belarus.
It%26#39;s a pity car hiring service is not available in Brest and the surrounding little towns(or i%26#39;ve never heard about them), but taxi service is ok, cheaper than British cabs that%26#39;s for sure.
I%26#39;m sure you have my e-mail, so feel free to ask for details.
