My wife and I will be in Minsk 12, 13, 14 March 2009 (depart 15 March) amd would like a local guide for a day or two to intoduce the city to us, perhaps ride the metro, have lunch (I buy), have fun and help us get oriented. I will pay a very fair rate for this service and prefer non-professional. We are easy-going and the guide doesn%26#39;t have to have a perfect knowledge of everything. We are good walkers.
We will be traveling by train from Vilnius. Any suggestions on train travel?
Also, can I get visa support without booking a hotel from the visa support people?
thx

Mostly people prefer 0600 morning train from Vilnius. It arrives conveniently at 1040 in the morning and depending on your hotel%26#39;s location you can walk there or take some transport.
Perhaps I could be of help with this. It is the second time I am happy about being a non-licensed guide.:)
I live in this forum, so PM day and night.

My intuition tells me you will be staying at Minsk Hotel. If so, take a walk there from the Railway Station.
