I already have an invitation from belarusian agency and i will get a visa in Minsk airport , but some say as long as one has belarussian embassy in his country it is nt allowed to get visa from airport???? is that true ?
by the way iam an egyptian and belarus has an embassy in egypt bt i dont live in egypt 2 years ago as iam here in saudi arabia which has no belarusian embassy ,
So what do you suggest to risk and fly ? or not?

You will definitely face a tough welcome at the airport and probably sent back because Consulate people there are very nervous about illegal migrants - to whom they put almost everyone who is not from EU/ USA.
The travel agency that gave you an invitation for on-arrival-visa will have problems, too. By the way - where is the invitation addressed? Airport or our Embassy in Asia?
Although it is not guaranteed that they will send you back directly on arrival, but some nerves will be spent, some time for double-checks with their Al-Qaeda databases, some stupid forms will have to be filled in.
I have been through all this with my Taiwan customer although he was a very respectable chap and had plenty of Shengen visas in his passport.

If you received invitation from a Belarusian travel company that has license then there should not be any problems at the airport. Visa fee is a little bit higher than when you process it in Egypt. That is all. No risk. Many people process their visas at the airport. The only thing that you have to make sure about is that your flight lands at the International airport Minsk-2. They have Consular Department only at this airport and visas are processed before you go through passport control and customs. I advise you to fill in visa application form in beforehand - this will save you time at the Consular Department there. You can down-load it at: www.mfa.gov.by/en/consular/applications/
And do not worry - many people go through this and those who did prefer to use this way instead of processing visa in beforehand :)

Elopa, who the hell are you to give this information?
Firstly, although Minsk-1 is a grim place, they also have a Consulate.
Yes, many people pass the visa procedure in Minsk but with different outcome. 90 per cent of the queue are Europeans. Those who have Embassies of Belarus in home countries are frowned upon, but they still get their visas - mainly business ones.
But people from Asia, not mentioning Africa, unless they are diplomats or very important customers, are treated in a very bad fashion. And sometimes head back straight away.

Dear Felix, you alledge that you are an expert in the destination, but you seem not to like this destination at all:))) which is in itself a very bad sign. And why are you so agressive? :) If something went wrong with you or your friends at Minsk-2 airport this can only mean that you did something incorrectly or, on the opposite, you did not do something that had to be done:).
|||
And, by the way:) Consular Department at Minsk-1 airport is something that exists on paper :) and operates only in emergency cases :)) There are no permanent personnel in it and should anybody want to process visa there then the procedure has to be agreed upon in beforehand and a Foreign Affairs officer has to be invited from the Central Consular Department from the Ministry :)))

Elopa, firstly I am indeed angry and secondly my friends were never served in any of these airports.
I take all efforts to smooth visa application procedure. BUT I have seen a lot of people driven mad by some nasty official telling them they don%26#39;t have this or that (usually with poor command of English). Moreover they happen to lose original invitations and travellers face problems. Moreover, they (officials) have no concept of business tourism - and if a person comes to an exhibition - he is a businessman, and has to pay for the visa accordingly (100 eur instead of 45).
After all, Minsk-1 does have a Consulate that operates at least on pre-arrangement basis.
No, I don%26#39;t quite like our destination and I have good reasons for that. And my 3 years%26#39; experience in this field is quite a good sign, won%26#39;t you agree?

to omdaCairo: Yes, it really seems that this chat starts beeing not boring :))) I am sure that everything will continue going smoothly :)
to Felix: Dear Felix, I am not an official:))) And, actually, have been in travel, doing ONLY INCOMING TO BELARUS, since 1999, so if you want some tips about problem-free visa support to Belarus or anything else, then I shall be happy to help :))) Anyway, one free advise for you - if you do not enjoy what you do and do not like this destination, then it probably be better to find a better job. Why waste your lifetime on something that does not bring you satisfaction :))))
