can you tell me the current prices in the bars and restaurants and also what money do they use . Am i best with euros or dollers.

Actually, everywhere only local currency BYR - Belarusian ruble is accepted. You can arrive with hard currency and - USD or EUR - and exchange those for BYR. The local ruble is tied to dollar and sinks together with it all right.
I am not a regular to the boozers but there are expensive places like Rakovsky Brovar or Toloka cafes - both on Vitebskaya Street. Drozhzhy (Yeast) United is a fine place - 2 Sverdlova Street.
Or it can be a small cafe in central part with no 5 star claims and therefore moderate prices.
