Perhaps you could give me a date so that I could look up some train for you?

well we are intending on travelling that part of the journey around the end of february so i was just wondering whether train was the cheapest option or whether perhaps a bus or something might be cheaper?

|||

If the railway web-inquiry doesn%26#39;t lie, there are plazcart seats ranging from USD 30-45-60. Something like that. I think buses are more expensive.

|||

well thats a decent price, ive heard about the plazcarts before, ive heard theyre the cheapest but arent very nice, i can cope with not very nice, but how bad are they? or alternatively, are they perfectly alright?

|||

For what I remember plazcarts are like coupes but without doors, I would even say without the walls, where the door would be. Just compartments like in American office.

For you it would have 2 benefits: you will be able to chat en route and moreover, there is a pisser, which is absent in a coach.

On the whole, quite endurable.

I always take buses to Petersburg.

There is a daily one 5:30 pm departing from one of major Minsk bus stations. Arrives at a bus station not far from Ligovsky ave in Petersburg around 8 am local time.

Costs around USD40 now.

It is not comfortable. But it %26#39;s extreme that%26#39;s why I love it.

There are plenty of trains for those who do not want to spend a sleepless night en route to the Balti Sea - there are plenty of rains.

Just book tickets in advance. The cost varies from USD40(cheapest) to USD90(the comfortable one).

Have a nice trip :)

Bus is even cheaper.

90 000 roubles = USD34
