Minsk Gberna

I had a relative who I was told was from Minsk Gberna. Does anyone know if that is in or near Minsk and how I would locate it on a map or a hotel I could stay in at that location?

well, i think your relative mispronounced the name of the area he was from.

gubernia(guberniya) was the name for an administrative part of Russian empire

Minsk gubernia represented almostly a half of modern Belarus territory. That%26#39;s just the same if i were told by some my relative that he was from Florida.

It%26#39;s necessary to find out the exact city or town where he was born.

Or at least an uezd(a part of gubernia) where he was born.

Here are the options: Bobruisk uezd, Borisov uezd, Igumen uezd, Minsk uezd, Mozyr uezd, Novogrudok uezd, Pinsk uezd, Rechitsa uezd or Sloutsk uezd.

all of those places I%26#39;ve mentioned are no more than 150-200 km from Minsk
