Upcoming Belarus Trip

My family and I will be travelling to Belarus in mid-October for a family roots trip. We have two children, ages 9 and 13, and will have a guide. I have the following questions:

1) Has anyone heard of the new Crowne Palaza Hotel?

2) What is the dining situation like in Minsk? Do you have to be very careful about what you eat?

3)Is it easy to find ATM machines in Minsk?

4)We will be taking the train from Minsk to Vilnus. What is the train like? Is it advisable to get first class?

1) That%26#39;s a new *****hotel,situated in the city centre, it%26#39;s been open since May, 31. Here%26#39;s their website http://www.cpminsk.com/

2)Don%26#39;t be afraid there%26#39;s no malaria or cholera here:))))

now seriously: hotel food is of good quality, restaurants are plenty in the city centre and they provide decent european cuisine. Very often restaurants have the so called %26quot;business lunch time%26quot;, it%26#39;s usually 12.00-16.00 when you can have a lunch for 5-7$. Well, i hope you know what kind of stuff they serve in McDonalds:) so no need to tell you.

No kosher menu in restaurants or kosher food departments in supermarkets... Sorry, guys...

3) ATMs are EVERYWHERE in the city centre and they are on every metro station.

4) The difference in prices between 1st and 2nd class is not very big. You%26#39;ll just have a compartment that can be closed. That%26#39;s it. It%26#39;s up to you where you want to spend just 3-4 hours.
